prevalence, public health, SARAS-CoV-2, wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE)
Theme 1 - Measuring
We are starting a project that our aims to close some critical gaps in our knowledge about the persistence of SARS-CoV-2 in environment and to monitor the prevalence of infections among the population from the city of Goiânia via wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE). The data could be used as an early warning system alerting the public health community to when and where infections are prevalent and if the virus is re-emerging in communities and can help model the trajectory of the pandemic with far less testing burden on our health care system. WBE is a robust aproach because it can effectively screen a large number of individuals in a suspected SARS-CoV-2 infection and can help health leaders make better informed decisions. We are looking for researchers with experience in modeling and / or epidemiology to help create predictive models. We will be very happy to close a partnership.
Thanks!
