Biological and Physicochemical Monitoring, Gediz River Basin, Water Quality and Ecotoxicology
Theme 2 - Evaluating
Increasing world population and increasing demand for water in different sectors create serious pressures on water resources. Irregularity between regions in the distribution of usable water resources, adverse effects of climate changes and intensification of demands made basin management necessary to achieve sustainable development goals. Basin-based management, in other words, integrated water management includes functions that address the planning, organization and control of water systems in an ecological and social integrity of water management. We offer our expertise in the assessment biological and physicochemial water quality, biomonitoring and marine - freshwater phylogenetic. we would like to search for a partner for the call which named as " determination of ecotoxiology and DNA damage in benthic indicator organisims ". In the planned study, the current situation of Gediz river, which is an surface water source of the Gediz basin, which has an important place in the Mediterranean Region and a serious economic potential, and its tributaries in terms of water quality, will be analyzed by non-parametric methods (non parametric) analysis.
The section of Hydrobiology is the department of Ege University that receives the most projects and publishes scientific articles. The main purpose of the department is to determine the fauna and flora of the water quality and the existing aquatic habitat by both morphological and molecular techniques by conducting biological monitoring studies in freshwater and marine environments.
